Accounting too 🥺
You could carve out a nice life for yourself with just a bachelor's degree from a state school (and a lot of hard work, ofc).
Still can but it's getting a lot more competitive at the entry levels and equity is getting tougher to grab at the top.
Tech was one of the last paths into the upper middle class without family money, credential laundering, or nepotism.
Now those jobs are disappearing too.
That is why the layoff story matters beyond tech.
