How to Roll Out of Accounting

After a few years of public accounting, I’ve decided this gig isn’t for me. Not just auditing, however, but accounting in general. 

I do genuinely enjoy business, and would like to leverage my accounting and business background into a different type of role. I realize I don’t have the experience/education to get a position for MBAs, but I’m curious what other people have seen. Have you seen an accountant successfully transfer out of the accounting industry and what type of position was it?
