Advice – leave public accounting for a Hedge Fund?

GCers –

I would appreciate some advice with a decision I have to make.  I am currently in my first busy season at a Big 4, but this will be my third busy season in public accounting (I did two busy seasons at a mid-size, and then made the switch to Big 4 this past summer).  I was recenlty contacted by an old colleague who works at a hedge fund with an opportunity in their accounting department.  My dilemma is — is it too soon to leave public accounting?  Should I not pass up on this opportunity and go for it?  I have always known I would eventually make the shift from public to private (but didn't know if going to a HF was in the cards), and this opportunity sort of snuck up on me.  Any advice?
