The firm provides tax, accounting and business advisory services to mid-market companies. It’s audit clients are businesses in the $50M to $500M range. Which, according to 29-year-old Audit Manager Will Acomb, keeps the stress level down and the work week manageable. “I can count on one hand the number of times I’ve worked more than a 65-hour week in the past six years,” he says.
Will is excited that he is already a manager. The whole audit team is young too which makes firm events like happy hours and the firm’s annual charitable event, the Wurst Golf Fest, lots of fun.
Cornwell Jackson is proud that no one has left the firm in the past six years simply to go to another firm. “I think that’s a testament to our culture,” said Will, “everyone at the firm has the ability to be visible and to participate in client matters. We’re exposed early to the business development side of the business. Partners take us on sales calls so we can see how the process works. We get to see all sides of the clients’ businesses too. We all are accountable to each other. It’s a wonderfully collegial and family-oriented culture.”
