Going Concern Is Now Part of Accountingfly

By now you may have heard that Going Concern has a new home. That home is with Accountingfly, a career resource site only for accountants. You can read the press release, if you’re into reading press releases.

Accountingfly is the brainchild of a guy named Jeff Phillips, who’s now my boss and the new publisher of GC. Instead of putting me out to pasture, he’s keeping me around so you can all stay informed and entertained on Going Concern, but now I’ll be in charge of Accountingfly’s content, too.

Accountingfly’s focus will be on careers. It lists jobs, hosts webinars, online events, reports on talent issues in the accounting profession and more. Yes, if this vaguely reminds you of the Going Concern Jobs (may it rest in peace) then you’re close enough.

What does this mean? Well, it means you’ll see some some cross-promotion of Accountingfly content, like a webinar or a video or some jobs listings, from time to time. Don’t worry, it won’t kill you and you might actually like it! If you don’t, then you should tell us.

You see, it’s clear that careers are important to accountants and we think we can give you the best place to discuss them, throughout your long, LONG career in this profession. We want to get it right and that means listening to your feedback. So, if you like something, tell us. If you don't, again, let us know how we can make it better.

So go poke around Accountingfly and tell us what you think. And don’t worry, Jeff gets all the credit if you like it and I will get all the blame if it crashes and burns. It’s part of my job description.

Thanks for your continued support of Going Concern.

Going Concern Turns 13 Today, There Will Be Cake in the Break Room Later

It was summer 2009 when this website came to be and it was a glorious time. Obama had been inaugurated earlier that year, the financial crisis was still very much top of mind for everyone including us, and I’d carved out a tiny bit of internet fame for photoshopping dollar bills coming out of Federal […]
