BKD Poaches Someone From KPMG and Issues a Press Release, Part I

Before BKD CPAs & Advisors did a little housecleaning a week or so ago, the firm hired a guy from KPMG to be its newest director in the International Tax Services division.

Josh Zellerman

Josh Zellerman was a four-year vet of the Radio Station before jumping to the St. Louis office of BKD earlier this month. He has also bounced around a couple of other big firms during his career in public accounting, which began in 2009 after graduating from Southern Illinois University in Edwardsville with a master’s degree in accounting.

Here’s what BKD’s press ops cranked out about JZ:

Before joining BKD, Zellerman spent more than 10 years at various global professional services firms serving as an international tax manager over audits for Fortune 500 companies.

“We are thrilled to have Josh join our firm. He brings unmatched value and expertise in the corporate tax compliance, provision and planning areas of our International Tax Services practice,” said Rob Wagner, managing partner of BKD’s National Tax Services divisions.

Zellerman has experience with generating international structuring recommendations and analyzing tax attributes for large companies, as well as an extensive knowledge of international tax planning and compliance, including tax reform impacts.

Right out of SIU-Edwardsville, Zellerman joined EY as a tax staff accountant in July 2009, according to his LinkedIn profile. In 2011, he turned in his black and yellow stripes for a purple rose, as he joined Grant Thornton as an international tax manager.

After nearly five years with the Purple Rose of Chicago, Zellerman joined KPMG in 2016, first as an international tax manager and then a senior manager.

In his spare time, Zellerman is a treasurer and board member of the St. Louis International Tax Group.

Congrats to Josh for joining the House of Dickman Ben and Kate.
