After KPMG opened the door to the accounting-firms-doing-law space last year, another firm has thrown their green eyeshade into the ring.
Idaho-HQd and private equity-backed Sorren (IPA #49 with $193,296,588 in revenue) announced yesterday that they’ve launched Sorren Law, “a separately constituted and regulated professional corporation that provides legal services in accordance with the relevant laws of jurisdictions in which it operates.” For now, they’re serving clients in just Nevada, Idaho and Texas, with plans to expand.
To be clear, Sorren Law is owned exclusively by lawyers. The founding group is Mansfield & Mayo, an established law firm.
If you haven’t heard of Sorren that’s OK, they’re relatively new and only came about last year. Perhaps you’ve heard of the 13 regional firms that combined like Voltron to make them: SKR+CO (Colorado), SBF (Florida), Roeser Accountancy (California), Pisenti & Brinker LLP (California), KDP (Oregon and Idaho), Harris (Idaho), Chigbrow Ryan Murata (Idaho), Acuity, Aycock & Company (Texas), JRJBF (Illinois), or KMA, BrookWeiner and SSG (Midwest)? No? None of those ring a bell? OK I dunno what to tell you then.
