Where Is Phil Mickelson’s KPMG Hat Taking You?

As you know, this past year living, breathing, walking billboard Phil Mickelson donned a brand new KPMG blue cap and, sensing contemporary society's completely reasonable demands, it started a Twitter account. It wasn't the most shameless of promotions since for every hat sold (YOURS FOR ONLY $29.95!), KPMG's Family for Literacy would donate three books to a child in need. So that's nice.

Anyway, the golf season is winding down and thus, it's safe to assume that excitement for the KPMG lids is waning. In a possible countermeasure, KPMG has launched the "Where Is The Blue Hat Taking You?” contest. This involves anyone "purchasing Phil’s Blue Hat and submitting creative photos via Twitter featuring the hat with the hashtag #PhilsBlueHat." The winner gets to hang with Lefty at the San Diego Chargers/Denver Broncos game on October 15th. It's not immediately known if Five Guys Burgers will be made available.

It seems like a fine idea to get books in the hands of kids who need them, but it's also a perfect opportunity for you to send us Phil's Blue Hat in funny, awkward and/or compromising situations (kindly keep them SFW).

Maybe a team in your non-KPMG firm's tax practice will be working the weekend and everyone will wear the hat out of spite. Perhaps Phil's hat will make a fool out of itself this Labor Day weekend by taking strange drugs at a Phish show. Perhaps a recently poached ex-KPMG partner will wear the hat posing in his/her new PwC office. There's really no shortage of ideas here, and since most of you have already checked out for the week, this will give you something to do.

Email us your submissions and if we get any decent pics, we'll share them with the group.

Who’s Putting Roofies in the Drinks at KPMG In-Office Get Togethers?

This post is not a joke about partners slipping Moloko into the Kool-Aid, someone is actually spiking drinks at KPMG New Zealand. The most disturbing part, putting aside the roofies which are plenty disturbing themselves, is that this likely happened on KPMG premises. For two months in a row, “grubby little cowards” have drugged drinks […]

Turns Out the Secret PCAOB Inspection List Isn’t Intangible Property for the Purposes of Wire Fraud After All

Financial Times reported today that two of the people in the middle of KPMG’s 2018 PCAOB inspection cheating scandal (extensive write-up here if you’ve been under a rock for approximately five years) are likely limping away scot-free minus any Google searches of their name being forever dominated by stories about cheating audit inspections. Two people […]
