RIP James Alan White, Managing Director at KPMG In Dallas (UPDATE)

Ed. note: Two years after Alan White’s remains were found, NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth ran a story about his family still seeking answers. As of May 2023, the case remains unsolved. The updated phone number to reach Detective Eric Barnes with any information is 214-671-3480.

Just saw on my Twitter feed the sad news that the remains of James Alan White, the KPMG managing director who went missing last October, were found Thursday afternoon and identified by the Dallas County medical examiner’s office on Friday, according to the Dallas Morning News.

The newspaper reported:

Dallas police said that a survey crew working for Paul Quinn College found human remains in a wooded area to the northwest of the southeast Oak Cliff campus about 12:30 p.m. Thursday.

The cause of White’s death has not yet been determined.

White, 55, disappeared after an early morning workout at an LA Fitness on Oct. 22, 2020. Surveillance footage from a nearby RaceTrac gas station showed White putting gas in the Porsche Macan SUV he was driving at 5:47 a.m., after he left the LA Fitness reportedly at 5:38 a.m. He then drove away, supposedly to head back home for a 7 a.m. work call. But he never made it home.

Dallas police found the black Porsche loaner car White was driving about a week later, 10 to 15 miles away and in the opposite direction of his house.

According to the Dallas Morning News, police are still investigating the case. Anyone with information can contact Detective Eric Barnes at (214) 283-4818 or by email at [email protected] and refer to case No. 188623-2020. Anonymous tips may be made to Crime Stoppers at (214) 373-8477.

We will continue to update this post as more information is released.

RIP, James.

  1. I have been reading news about this and I have a number of questions. Mr White was last seen in the uptown area leaving the gym and then at a gas station in the uptown area but his car and body was found 15 miles south of Dallas. Whether the gas station where he was seen last was on his way back home from the gym? That will indicate if he has any intentional plan to go somewhere after gym or he was returning home. Next question, his car was driven by him or someone along with him in car for almost 15 miles on I75 and I45. was there any traffic camera recording his car to see if someone was with him. When I drive my car on tollway, all the times get recorded. Did the detective assigned to this case checked those to see if we can find how and when the car moved and who drove it? When car was found, did we check inside? Whether his wallet, phone etc was found? That will tell if there was any robber case or not. When car was found, why no search was performed in that area? So many questions and so little answers.
