Dress Code: “Clothing Is Mandatory. No Exceptions.”

That’s the word according to the Bohlmann Accounting Group’s managing partner, Benjamin Bohlmann. The subject came up as he spoke about the firm’s unique culture: Do your work on time, service your clients like crazy and recognize opportunity when it arises. Dress as you wish on a daily basis—just wear something.

Flexible hours are a given at this Miami, FL-based firm. “We don’t have standard hours because we recognize our team members are adults who have lives outside of the office. So, a working mother might work irregular hours from home much of the time. Similarly, someone who is training for a marathon or other sports event might work different hours. In fact, someone who works this type of flexible schedule handles some of our largest clients.”

Perhaps the firm’s culture stems from its formation, which happened when the six founding partners met in a coffee shop at the back of an Acme supermarket. They left the Big 4 environment to build a firm that aligned better with their philosophy about what a firm’s culture should be while servicing high quality clients.

Today, the growing firm has about 50 people doing traditional tax, accounting and consulting work for high net worth individuals and privately- and family-owned businesses. It is noteworthy that many clients are multinational, which adds an interesting component to the work.

“All of our managers are on a partner track which includes meeting certain milestones,” says Bohlmann. “It is up to each individual to decide how quickly or slowly to progress. We have a great group of people and I’m looking forward to adding more partners to our team.“

If living in South Florida and working at a forward-thinking firm that values individuality is on your agenda, Bohlmann Accounting Group is firm you should consider. You can click here to see all current open positions. And to learn more, watch our full interview with Benjamin Bohlmann below.
