It Appears Some Boeing Employees Had a Little ‘Let’s Not Pay South Carolina Taxes’ Club

It's not clear whether or not these people were in cahoots or not but the Palmetto State Department of Revenue did arrest 11 Boeing employees yesterday for tax evasion:

The South Carolina Department of Revenue has arrested 11 Boeing employees Monday for tax evasion.

The Department of Revenue reports that 11 individuals have been accused of submitting fraudulent W-4 forms to their employer claiming to be exempt for South Carolina income taxes, as well as failing to file their state income tax returns. With total earnings over $2.2 million, the individuals collectively evaded paying $99,729 in individual income taxes to the state of South Carolina.

I'm a little confused as to why 11 adults would claim to be exempt from South Carolina taxes when it would be pretty easy to prove otherwise, but who knows! Maybe there's a tax denying svengali leading this thing. The Department of Revenue says "more arrests are expected to be made," so anything's possible.
