All those employees sent packing last September and October and going to unlimited PTO must have freed up enough money for EY to blow on an ad debuting during tomorrow’s Super Bowl between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
And no one is more pumped about it than Kelly Grier, EY U.S. chair and managing partner and Americas managing partner.
It’ll cost you about $5.5 million for a 30-second spot during Super Bowl LV, but lucky for EY, the firm was able to “purchase a spot during Sunday’s game at a fraction of the normal cost of a typical Big Game ad,” Grier wrote in an email to EYers on Saturday morning.
The commercial will air in only 10 cities that have the “highest concentration of our clients and people,” Grier wrote, but it will be plastered all over the firm’s social media channels at some point tomorrow.
We haven’t seen a sneak preview of the ad, but Grier included an internal link that we don’t have access to for EY employees to view it before the game. However, EY did put this 34-second video on its YouTube channel earlier today. Don’t know if this is the ad, but here it is [UPDATE: This was indeed the ad. It aired about 9:18 p.m. in the Chicago area.]:

So *that’s* what the spent everyone’s accrued PTO on
Content is two fold. First Kelly awards the prestigious”leadership through courage” award to…Kelly. That comes with a $500k bonus.
Next there is a stream of about one thousand names that flash across quickly with a final note that says, “we appreciate your service, but we do not need you anymore. Don’t call these layoffs, but an option for your families to lead through courage like me.”
I was laid off in September but they kept me on until January. I got a welcome back from winter break gift last week. Kelly is a clown. The good news is that she’ll fail up or out in the next 18 months.

This site is a joke. Clearly disgruntled employees who comment and post on this site. Kelly is great and so is EY. Best company I’ve ever worked for. The Super Bowl ad the was a great opportunity, clearly you don’t understand branding/ marketing/ communications. Per usual, y’all post biased news.
Thank you. I don’t agree with all Leadership decisions but after all, I love working for this firm. Proud we have our own super bowl ad. Proud we didn’t have layoffs (other than performance-based separations, as clearly the poster above), and even got a mid-year raise when numbers turned out better than expected.

EY’s performance based separations were rigged. There’s ample evidence out there which shows reviews were artificially manipulated to receive lower scores and therefore become fodder for separating that employee from the firm.

This was a dumb ad that isn’t going to get EY any new business. I’m glad they only flushed a couple million dollars down the toilet instead of paying full price.
“Equity” is a BLM code word use to buy into the politically correct mantra of the day…. only revealing the absence of true values of the organization.
I would imagine that Ms. Grier would characterize this article as Bramwell being Bramwell.
