It’s revenue season! Traditionally Deloitte is first to report and report they have: $74.5 billion in global revenue (unaudited). Last year, the firm was the first Big 4 to cross the $70 billion revenue threshold. And it was only in 2021 that they crossed $50 billion, a number that seems puny now against that much bigger nearly $75 billion they’re waving around this year.
But let’s focus on 2026. The firm has reported global growth of 5.7% in USD (3.8% increase in local currency), a figure Joe is proud of giving the waning popularity of throwing cash at consultants. “In a time of rapid change and technology-fueled disruption, organizations around the world continue to place their trust in Deloitte to successfully navigate this historic reshaping of markets and industries,” says Joe Ucuzoglu, Deloitte Global CEO. “Deloitte is unlocking AI’s potential through a people-led, AI-powered approach that is grounded in trust, integrity, and professional excellence.”
Ignoring all the self-congratulatory fluff in the press release — and it’s Deloitte so you know there’s a lot of that — let’s look at figures. The Asia Pacific region performed strongest at 7.5% growth followed by Europe, Middle East, Africa (EMEA) at 3.2% and capped off by Americas at 3.2%. As we know, Americas has been struggling just a little these past few years for reasons.
Service line growth breaks out as follows, with the percentages being in local currency.
- Audit & Assurance: 5%
- Tax & Legal: 5.8%
They’ve broken up consulting into two areas so we shall do the same:
- Strategy, Risk & Transactions: 4.4%
- Technology & Transformation: 2.5%
The only other number worth reporting here is “nearly 500,000,” which is how many people they said they have globally. Is it too much to ask for a more precise number?
