Coached out: the controversy.

Based on where the thread was going at the other open item, I thought it would be good to ask:

1) Have you ever been coached out? Why? Did you ultimately quit or were you laid off?

2) Do you know someone who has been coached out?  Did they suck or did they piss someone off or both?

3) Does your firm coach out or out right fire someone?

Don't use people's real names and or provide personal information, but give as many juicy details as you can.  We are all on the verge of busting for comp watch threads – lets start the trolling early and on a hot topic.  I will start:1) No, 2) Yes but no personally; I know a person who was doing the coaching in the other half of the coached out equation but i don't have details because i forgot them all; 3) my old firm does – i am pretty sure my new one just puts people on "the bench" and then lays them off when their utilization gets too low or they quit.
