I am a student going for my CPA and I am almost done with school and going to prepare for the exam. I have been interning at a tax firm for a year now and I have found out about the work experience requirement which made my intern boss decide to let me go. He is not a CPA and doesn’t want to hurt my chances of getting the work experience while I’m in school or not getting a job after school. My accounting professor and I were speaking about this and he said I do everything a CPA would do but I don’t have one watching me. Can I still get the work requirement out of the way if I don’t have a CPA watching me but one will sign off that I have worked like a CPA for two years or does it have to be in a CPA office?
