I'm currently an assurance staff at a big four firm, with mainly banking/capital markets clients and some asset management. I would really like to be more in the asset management realm, but it seems like I am stuck with the clients I've been assigned for my first year. Many of my peers have also confirmed that it is very difficult to switch industries. What do you think about switching to another firm after my first year? I received campus offers from other big four firms. I am hoping to utilize that and my staff 1 experience, as well as might interest in asset management (also have intern experience at an asset management firm), to hopefully go to another big four and tap into their client base. What are your thoughts on switching and how feasible do you think it would be?
