North Carolina CPAs should already be aware that you are hours away from a deadline to renew your license for 2026-2027, what you may not know is why your board has been so persistent about you getting it done. It’s not only because they debuted a redesigned user portal earlier this year.
No, they need you to do this now and not later because no one over there wants to be stuffing demand letters in envelopes after the deadline passes. Stuffing envelopes? In 2026!? We’re not doing that.
They posted the following plea on Xitter earlier today:
2010: slapping this symbol on everything even though we later discovered that the mysterious tree symbol and the disclaimer that usually came with it were actually bad for the environment in their own way

According to the Board, 14% of North Carolina CPAs still needed to complete their 2026–2027 license renewals as of yesterday. Maybe this post will grab an eyeball or two and get you laggards cracking.
