Base Salary:  $75,000–$85,000 per year (USD)

Job Description:

A public accounting firm is seeking a Senior Bookkeeper / Staff Accountant to deliver full-cycle bookkeeping, month-end close, and financial reporting for a portfolio of approximately 10–15 client entities. This is a client-services role suited to an experienced accounting professional comfortable managing multiple engagements in a fast-paced, collaborative remote environment. Responsibilities

  • Manage full-cycle bookkeeping/accounting for multiple clients in QuickBooks Online and Desktop
  • Perform monthly reconciliations, accruals, journal entries, and financial statement prep
  • Build monthly sales journals from POS reports (Square, Heartland, Toast)
  • Recognize payroll expense from payroll/POS reports (Square, Heartland, Toast, ADP, QuickBooks)
  • Prepare, pay, and file multi-jurisdiction sales tax returns (monthly/quarterly)
  • Act as primary accounting point of contact for assigned clients
  • Collaborate with internal team on consistent, accurate, timely deliverables
  • Track work and documentation in Karbon
  • Support quality control and adherence to firm standards

Qualifications

  • 5+ years in public accounting or client-based accounting firm environment (required)
  • Strong QuickBooks Online/Desktop skills; QBO ProAdvisor certification a plus
  • Solid grasp of accrual accounting, reconciliations, and month-end close
  • Experience with multi-jurisdiction sales tax filing
  • Experience recognizing payroll expense from third-party reports (Square, Toast, Heartland, ADP)
  • Strong communication and client-service skills
  • Ability to manage multiple client engagements simultaneously
  • Proficiency with Karbon, ADP, Microsoft Office
  • Hospitality/F&B/service-industry client experience preferred
