Accountant: Hamilton Twp. finances were off by $2.5M Wayne Bastin, a certified public accountant hired by the township last fall to "straighten out the books" told trustees Wednesday he found more than 1,800 accounting errors in his review of the township's finances from 2010-2013. Bastin, who's billed the township more than $15,000 since November, told trustees those accounting errors overstated the township's finances by about $2.5 million. The township's books, he explained, initially showed a total cash balance of $9.6 million as of Dec. 31.
