EY Poaches Someone From PwC and Issues a Press Release, Part III

EY U.K. is so excited about its recent hire of a former PwC partner that someone in communications actually sent us this message earlier today:

I absolutely loved the first two parts of your ‘EY Poaches Someone From PwC and Issues a Press Release,’

To complete the trilogy, I wondered if you’d be interested in this release – Chris Romans has joined EY in the Midlands to lead EY Private in the region. He’s joined us from PwC!

First, thanks for reading our site. Second, yes, we do love Big 4-on-Big 4 poaching news.

Here’s what EY sent us about this Romans fellow:

EY in the Midlands has appointed Partner Chris Romans to the team, who will be focused on supporting the growth of EY Private across the region and working with private businesses and their owners.

Chris’ experience spans over 30 years. He started his career at Arthur Andersen and Robson Rhodes and was most recently a Partner at PwC in the Midlands, leading the firm’s local tax and wider private business practices. He is a well-known figure amongst the Midlands’ business and intermediary community, having spent much of the last 20 years working with the region’s leading private businesses and advising on a number of significant Midlands transactions.

Chris has joined EY to drive the growth of its EY Private team who support the full spectrum of private enterprises including private capital managers, investors and the portfolio businesses they fund, in addition to business owners, family businesses, family offices and entrepreneurs. The team aims to provide a collaborative community between EY colleagues, intermediaries and clients, building relationships and supporting the growth ambitions of private business.

Chris Romans

As the press release mentions, Romans cut his teeth in accounting at Arthur Andersen, where he worked in tax for nearly 14 years, according to his LinkedIn profile.

He then went to RSM Robson Rhodes as head of tax in the Midlands. But RSM Robson Rhodes merged with Grant Thornton in April 2007, and shortly thereafter, Romans went to Papa Whiskey Charlie where he worked for nearly 13 years specializing in advising private, family, and real estate businesses and their owners.
