According to TMZ, Georgia rapper Bubba Sparxxx (real name Warren Anderson Mathis) owes $29,266.88 in back taxes to the state from 2006. If you recall, the now 35-year-old came on the scene with 2001's "Ugly" and hasn't really been heard from since his biggest hit "Ms. New Booty" with the Ying Yang Twins peaked at #7 in 2006. Coincidentally, the same year he conveniently forgot to pay $15k in taxes.
While not particularly newsworthy on its own, the notable detail in this fine tale of tax woe is that between March and May, Georgia snatched up $3,622.45 from Sparxxx' music royalties. You mean people A) still pay for music and B) pay for this guy's music? Who knew!
It's not an R. Kelly-level tax issue, obviously, but we can only assume that's because Sparxxx never made that $50 million he promised to make before he called it quits.
