Surely by now you’ve all heard of the Harvard grad fired by Deloitte before she even served a single day for the firm after a politically-charged TikTok video of hers went viral. It seems Deloitte doesn’t like it when their incoming consultants threaten to stab people, even if said threat is really just “an analogy” and not an actual threat. Let’s use our critical thinking for a moment here: who is this chick really gonna stab? Come on. Anyhoo, Deloitte took it serious enough to rescind her offer so here we are catching up on the aftermath.
First, here’s the video.
As a totally objective and definitely not at all biased news source, we believe it’s necessary to address the elephant (or donkey?) in the room: Reddit cares more about the fact that a Harvard grad even considered Deloitte than the Harvard grad getting fired. This is why I love you guys.
Case in point:
I don’t know what I would be more pissed about: Losing a job because I posted a TikTok threatening to stab people Or going to Harvard just to end up working at Deloitte
And:
If you go to a state school Deloitte consulting is great, if you go to Harvard it is preforming [sic] way below average.

me: Why is a Harvard grad even at deloitte to begin with. Go MBB/IB/Big Tech. Seems like a waste of time at Deloitte with that degree, even if its Deloitte consulting.
And then of course a whole-ass analysis of the hierarchy of consultancies, replete with the kind of gentle self-flagellation I expect from r/accounting:
Deloitte is 2-3 levels below MBB. It’s good, but not great. It’s like going to a target school and not going big 4 but RSM / BDO. There’s a large difference in the prestige.
Tier 1: MBB
Tier 2: AT Kearney, Oliver Wyman, BAH
Tier 2.5: Deloitte, Accenture, Strategy&
Tier 3: Boutiques / rest of big 4 including EY Parth
Edit: this is not clowning on Deloitte btw, I’m going to a lower ranked consultancy that rhymes with CY Darth, but I don’t try to kid myself and say I’m one step down from MBB, there’s such a huge difference

As for the young lady whose future has now been irreparably altered due to a TikTok video, she says she’s on the right side of history. “Trump supporters took my job away from me,” she says in an update. She goes on to take a jab (no pun) at Deloitte, saying “It sucks but it doesn’t suck as much as systemic racism. And I’m sorry Deloitte that you can’t see that. That you were cowardice enough to fight somebody who’s going to make an indelible change in the world.”
