Announced yesterday via press release, KPMG has picked Jason LaRue as its next Vice Chair of Talent & Culture. He replaces Sandy Torchia, who will be riding off into the sunset on September 30 after four years as Vice Chair Talent and Culture and pulling double duty as Global Co-Head of People KPMG International since July 2025. Safe to say she probably has earned herself a rest.

KPMG had this to say about LaRue in their press release:

A member of KPMG’s management committee, LaRue will oversee the firm’s talent and culture strategies and all human resources activities, including such areas as workforce planning and deployment, total rewards, recruiting, talent management, learning and others.

Jason previously served as National Managing Partner of Talent & Culture at KPMG. Over the course of his 20 years with the firm, he has played a pivotal role in advancing talent and culture initiatives that strengthen the organization and fuel client success.

He serves as a board member for Blessings in a Backpack and an advisory board member for Fairfield University’s John Charles Meditz College of Arts and Sciences.

According to their website, Blessings in a Backpack Blessings provides food on weekends for kids who might otherwise go hungry. Awww.

KPMG US Chair and CEO Tim Walsh seems especially hopeful LaRue has what it takes to bring in and raise up fresh meat in what will be the rapidly changing years ahead, writing on LinkedIn:

KPMG’s best-in-class talent strategy and career development are part of the reason I was able to grow from intern to CEO. As technology reshapes the workforce and client expectations continue to evolve, attracting, developing, and retaining talent has never been more important.

I’m pleased to share that Jason LaRue has been selected as KPMG’s next Vice Chair of Talent & Culture.

Jason brings unrivaled knowledge, perspective, and the forward-looking vision needed to accelerate our talent transformation. Over more than 20 years with KPMG, he has developed a deep understanding of our business, our people, and the role Talent & Culture plays in helping both succeed. His expertise and strategic vision, paired with an appetite for change, meet the moment while also honoring our culture.

We’ll be watching with great interest.
