It’s promotion season at PwC, and the newest batch of chosen ones will officially become partners or principals on July 1 after they kiss Tim Ryan’s ring. Of the 210 individuals promoted, 116 will be partners and 94 will be principals.
This year’s class of 210 new partners and principals is the smallest since 2015, when 201 PwCers got a seat at the big kids’ table:

Let’s look at some other stats of note from the class of 2021:
- 91: The number of new partners and principals in advisory, the most of any service line, followed by 70 in assurance, 46 in tax, and three in internal firm services.
- 66: The number of new partners and principals who are women, or 31% of the class of 2021 (same percentage as last year).
- 48: The number of new partners and principals who work in the New York metro area, the most of any market, followed by 34 in the Central market and 25 in the Bay Area and Northwest market.
- 43: The number of new partners and principals in New York City, the most of any location, followed by 29 in Chicago and 21 in Boston.
