Finally, LinkedIn Gives You the Option to Turn Off Endorsements

We have discussed LinkedIn endorsements previously — I would like to thank everyone who endorsed me for losing the remote, cat wrangling, writing about endorsements, and general mayhem after that post — but at that time, there was nothing to do about them except ignore them and heavily judge the people who use them.

Always slow to offer up features you might actually want or use (those of us with stalkers only had to wait forever to block people), LinkedIn has finally listened to the people and given us the endorsement-blocking we crave. Of course, at this point, I'm gunning to be the top cat wrangler and TV remote loser in my professional network.

Opting out is super easy. Just hit "edit" at the top of your profile, scroll down to "Skills & Endorsements" and choose "no" if you no longer want endorsements.

Obviously if you uncheck "show me suggestions to endorse my connections," you will no longer be pestered to endorse connections. Which is handy if you're a slutty networker like me and have no idea if John Thomas you met at a conference two years ago knows his ass from GAAP or not.

Yay, freedom!
