YSK: NASBA Has a Landing Page to Check If Your State Has Granted a Rona Credit Extension

Interesting little thing NASBA tweeted out today that we thought would be worthwhile to share with you all, a master list of jurisdictions that have granted credit extensions. You’ll note it’s pretty much everybody and you don’t have to do anything in order to get one.

As you can see from the chart, most states have pretty standard extensions from April 2020 to December 30, 2020 but you’ll note Pennsylvania appears to be the most forgiving when it comes to Rona-related problems for candidates: “Due to the COVID-19 emergency disaster declaration signed by the Governor on March 6, 2020, a waiver was granted of the requirement that CPA candidates must complete all parts of the CPA examination within an 18-month period. Candidates whose exam credits expire during the time of the emergency declaration will be granted an extension which lasts for the duration of the emergency plus an additional 180 days from the end of the emergency. This exam credit extension replaces the 90-day extension that was recently granted to CPA candidates by way of letter from the Board.”

According to NASBA, candidates do not need to do anything in order to get an extension and your candidate account will reflect your extended credit date. NASBA respectfully informs candidates that there is no need for you to contact your Board of Accountancy or NASBA.

So now you know. Go forth and enjoy your hard-earned extensions.
