Today’s Groupon: A Chief Accounting Officer Courtesy of KPMG

Chronically accounting challenged coupon* carrier, Groupon, has found a new Chief Accounting Officer and they've followed the methodology most notably employed by PwC – poaching a KPMG partner:

Groupon Inc said on Monday it appointed Brian Stevens chief accounting officer as the online daily deal company grapples with a string of accounting controversies. Stevens will step into the role immediately and report to CFO Jason Child. Stevens joins Groupon after a 16-year career at KPMG, where he was most recently an audit partner.
Stevens will be moving to Chicago from Connecticut for the new gig, which is great if he was thinking the Northeast winters were a little too balmy.

*Is it pronounced "q-pon" or "coo-pon"? Discuss. It's important.
