PwC Will Probably Be the First Accounting Firm to Replace Interns With Robots

It sounds crazy now but just think, not that long ago we carried around shiny discs with only a dozen songs crammed on each one and would have thought you were nuts if you told us one day, you will have the entire Internet in your pocket and mostly use this technology to post filtered photos of what you're eating.

Check out these crazy PwC Brits chatting it up about technology, or — more specifically — how eventually we'll be taking orders from robots and not the other way around.

My first impression is it's unfortunate a robot was not available to pick out ties for this talk.

My second impression is from a regulatory perspective, this is perfect. The profession can totally ditch those annoying ethics requirements and just program perfect, by-the-book robots to do the work of human beings who are prone to judgment errors and worse. The ETHIX5000 never backdates workpapers or insider trades on clients, it can easily handle a 100 hour workweek before it needs a single charge and it doesn't complain… about anything! Ever! It's perfect!

Why do I get the sneaking suspicion the firms are already working on this?
