KPMG to Keep Phil Mickelson in Hats for Foreseeable Future

KPMG is standing by their golfing man.

In the aftermath of the news that Phil Mickelson was named as a relief defendant in the SEC's civil lawsuit against famed gambler William "Billy" Walters and Dean Foods chairman Thomas Davis, all of Phil's corporate sponsors are hanging in there. Most notably for our purposes, KPMG issued this statement to Reuters:

While we are disappointed by what the SEC announced today, we appreciate that Phil’s statement makes clear he respects and shares the values of KPMG. We accept his statement of personal responsibility and commitment and have nothing further to add.

So, just to clarify, "Making good on a nearly $1 million gambling debt by virtue of material non-public information" is not part of KPMG's values? I want to make sure I understand who's sharing whose values here.

In related we-have-little-to-say-about-Phil news, the @MickelsonHat Twitter account has been silent for six days. The only Mickelson-related streak longer than that is his current run of not winning the US Open.
