KPMG Poaches Someone From EY and Issues a Press Release, Part VI

Ian Wood

Poaching season never rests, especially in the U.K. In today’s edition of “Big 4-on-Big 4 Poaching From Around the World,” Ian Wood can get his old KPMG coffee mug out of storage because he’s back at where it all began, this time as part of the firm’s Energy Lead Advisory team.

According to a press release seen by Consultancy.uk:

Ian Wood comes to KPMG from Big Four rival EY, arriving as an Associate Partner. He is an experienced energy deal originator and executor, having spent 20 years in infrastructure corporate finance. He has a proven track record in energy transition, including roles on deals such as the financing of Sleaford biomass plant, JPMorgan Asset Management’s UK wind portfolio acquisition, equity funding of the storage and flexgen specialist Statera Energy and GLIL’s first solar investment partnership with Cubico Sustainable Investments.

Wood said of his new challenge, “KPMG’s Energy Deal Advisory team has a reputation for being at the leading edge of the market and I’m looking forward to being part of the future growth of the team across the UK.”

According to his LinkedIn profile, Wood worked in energy and environmental finance at EY from October 2007 until last month, most recently as a director.

But he started his career in 2001 at the U.K. House of Klynveld, working in project finance and advising clients in the private finance initiative and public-private partnership market. He was a manager for KPMG Corporate Finance when he left KPMG in 2007.
