JOB SUMMARY: This is a Tax Specialist II position in the General Tax Administration Program, Receivables Management Field Operations Collections Process, Education Compliance Outreach Unit in the Daytona Beach service center. The incumbent assists the public with registering new business entities, responds to tax law questions, analyzes and reviews tax situations, conducts reviews of tax returns, and reviews businesses’ books and records to determine tax liabilities. They conduct independent technical research relative to specific tax matters and determine how the tax laws apply. The incumbent also contacts local businesses to determine their status and determine if any action, education, or assistance is needed with tax application or tax collection.

* Currently employed with the Florida Department of Revenue.
* Three years of experience collecting tax obligations within the General Tax Administration (GTA) utilizing the System of Unified Taxation (SUNTAX).

* The hiring salary for this position will generally not exceed $3,618.00 monthly.
* This position may require overnight travel to various locations throughout Florida utilizing your own means of transportation.
* This position requires that you meet with taxpayers at their place of business and possibly assess them for past due liabilities.
* This position may require overtime, which may include weekends.

SKILLS VERIFICATION TEST: All candidates who meet the screening criteria/minimum job requirements will be required to take a Skills Verification Test. Candidates must receive a score of at least 70% to be considered further.
