Senior/Supervisor Tax Accountant
Job Type: FT, W2 Permanent
Remote, within US
Compensation: $85,000 to $100,000
About this Job:
Our client is a growing accounting and consulting firm that primarily focuses on Healthcare and Construction clients. This role will be pivotal in coaching clients, supervising younger or less experienced staff, and helping clients achieve their goals.
This work in this position breaks out as follows:
- 60-70% – Client Work (managing client projects, preparing complex S corporation and partnership returns, basis calculations, sale of business strategies, and compensation structures, reviewing staff member work and work papers, tax research)
- 10-15% – Creating Procedures, Checklists & KPIs
- 10-15% – Client Communication
- 5-10% – Reporting to Firm Management
- 5-10% – Ensuring Job Profitability
Responsibilities
- Prepare complex S Corporation and Partnership returns with trial balance reconciliation processes; review returns prepared by tax staff.
- Assist clients with proper compensation calculations and basis calculations
- Ability to use your strong accounting background to support and provide feedback on client’s trial balance and financial reports
- Coach and train clients on tax deductions, estimated tax strategies, and planning for their business
- Provide feedback and support to staff and senior accountants on their questions and work papers
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of tax accounting experience
- CPA or EA license encouraged
- In-depth accounting and payroll knowledge
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Timely and concise communicator
- Great interpersonal and customer service skills
- Enjoy coaching people
- Seeking to take on more responsibility
Software Experience Preferred:
- Ultra Tax
- QBO and QBD
- Gusto
- Xero
- Sage, a plus
