Salary $120,000 – $170,000 per year

We are looking for an individual with executive presence and a strong knowledge and understanding of tax planning and preparation for individuals, partnerships, corporations, estates, gifts and trusts. The tax manager will manage multiple tax engagements and projects with a wide range of complexity as well as provide supervision, leadership and training to staff accountants.

Key responsibilities for this position are
Prepare and review multiple tax engagements and provide timely service to our clients.
Demonstrate high level of knowledge and understanding of tax law and GAAP/GAAS.
Keep current on tax fundamentals through tax research and continuing education.
Maintain client relationships with continual communication, identifying their needs and understanding their business approach.
Develop new client relationships by actively networking at professional association and community events.
Administer client billing and have a general understanding of budgeting and production goals.
Enthusiastically participate in the growth and development of the staff accountants, including managing and evaluating their performance and productivity.
Participate in staff and intern recruitment.
Adhere to company procedures and promote company’s vision and mission.
5-8+ years of tax preparation, research and planning in public accounting. Knowledge of the construction and real estate industries is a plus.
Current California CPA license.
Bachelor’s degree in accounting from an accredited university.
Proficient in computer software (i.e. ProSystem fx Tax, CCH Engagement, Microsoft Word/Excel, DMS).
Sharp analytical skills and strong communication skills, including the ability to effectively present information and respond to clients’ needs.
Excellent leadership skills with a willingness to exemplify and foster a positive working environment.
Able to work extra hours during busy season and when necessary.
