Become a part of the “strength within.” Hexcel is currently seeking a Senior Manager Tax Planning for our Stamford, CT USA location. This senior member of the corporate tax function will report directly to the Vice President of Tax. This position will be responsible for all aspects of global tax planning, including effective collaboration with the tax accounting and compliance teams to ensure tax accounting and reporting aspects are properly considered. Responsible for managing due diligence and restructuring for M&A transactions. We are looking for an individual that possesses great project management and organizational skills and the ability to balance multiple priorities and meet demanding deadlines. Ideally, they should be highly detail-oriented, with excellent analytical, written, verbal, and presentation skills and takes ownership of work and able to think independently. The selected individual will be responsible for but not limited to the following obligations: Manage and lead restructuring and tax planning related to US and international operations in furtherance of company objectives and to achieve effective tax rate goals Manage all due diligence required for various M&A activity. Develop and implement integration and post-acquisition structures to optimize tax savings. Engage with all business units in the US and globally as a business partner. Advise on day to day tax questions as well as long term tax planning and restructuring. Proactively monitor all legislative and regulatory tax law developments (US and non-US). Communicate the effects of these developments to management and the broader tax team as necessary and create strategies to capitalize on changes to tax legislation. Develop and maintain tax models to maximize tax savings and minimize negative consequences of newly proposed and newly enacted laws. Work closely with the legal department to rationalize the legal entity structure in an efficient manner to drive annual cost savings. Review and assist compliance team with ensuring all tax planning is reflect properly in the tax returns and all post transaction filings are made appropriately. Partner with Treasury and Accounting to manage and drive efficient cash flows, cash pooling and internal debt structure. Develop relationships with key advisors to bring innovative and cutting-edge US and international tax planning ideas. Present cost/benefit/ROI on planning ideas to VP of Tax/CFO. Drive and implement tax efficient funding and use of funds in context of acquisitions and other global cash needs. Manage and lead projects involving multiple international local and US tax issues and opportunities across countries, divisions, geographic areas, business groups, and staff functions such as strategic transfer pricing planning. Lead audit defense for audits in the US and abroad – support local teams with compiling documentation, responding to IDRs and working with local advisors to formulate the audit defense strategy. Review and assistance with the quarterly and annual ASC 740 tax accruals Review return to provision adjustments, uncertain tax positions, and valuation allowances and draft technical memos to document positions Create, review, and provide internal control documentation required by Sarbanes-Oxley Break out of responsibilities: 50% Planning and M&A, 10% Audit Defense, 15% Compliance, 25% Tax Provision Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree required with advanced degree in tax or Juris Doctorate preferred. Minimum of 8-10 years of tax planning experience in public accounting or a large corporate tax department. Public accounting experience required and Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred Experience influencing stakeholders and coordinating/leading projects Cross-border and US tax planning, including tax efficient legal entity structuring and financing experience preferred. Knowledge of tax accounting principles, transfer pricing, and compliance. Demonstrated exceptional communication, collaboration, process management, and organization skills.
